Knocknarea Sunset

This photograph was taken from Ballydrehid Bridge looking towards Knocknarea mountain late in the evening in June 2008

Knocknarea mountain (327m) is caped by a huge cairn which is over 10m high, one of the largest tombs of this type in Ireland. This cairn is know as Queen Meave's Grave and thought to be the burial place of legendary warrior Queen Meave of Connaught, buried upright on her horse in full battle regalia facing her enemies from Ulster.
