Island Dreams
Inishmurray is home to an early Christian monastic settlement which is enclosed a very impressive Cashel and is thought to date from the 6th century. The row of abandoned cottages in this photograph relates to a more modern inhabitation of Inishmurray where approximately a dozen families lived side by side for more than a hundred years until the last of them left the island for good in 1948
